Afua Saafir, contributing writer, joined Suite 101 in 2009. She is a proud wife and homeschooling mom. She is passionate about learning new things each day and feels that every moment in life presents a unique opportunity for growth and development. One of her favorite mottoes states that "success consists of a series of little daily efforts".

Afua has been teaching for the past seven years and absolutely loves helping children to start on the path to reaching their full academic potential. One of her goals is to help inspire children to become life-long learners and she works hard to help them become self-motivated students. She has taught in the public school arena, the private school setting, and has even headed an in-home daycare where the children were taught using an accelerated curriculum.

Afua has also written many articles on topics that are dear to her heart. Topics include education, parenting, and healthy living. She has also created a variety of downloadable academic materials for use by teachers, parents, and homeschoolers. Afua's zeal and passion for learning is evident in her writing style and choice of subject matter.

Afua holds an Educational Specialist and a Masters Degree in School Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development. She has also taken post-graduate courses in brain based learning

and behavior management.

Afua is currently homeschooling and beginning her freelance writing career.
